The opportunity however is to look at 2020 a little differently; the 2020 accelerator. Is it possible that it has seemed challenging because the gap between what we have known as “normal” and the changes of the next era is widening?
It is challenging AND as leaders, we have to be aware of these dynamics going on. To ask people how they are, give them a chance to acknowledge and name it and support them to find new solutions. We have to find new solutions. When we try to keep doing things the way we always have but have new limitations, it is natural to feel discouraged. Encouragement is seeing what is possible. As leaders, we have the opportunity to help people find new possibilities personally and professionally with proactive planning. Be a light. It really matters.
COVID is pushing organizations to live and function within uncertainty. We don’t know when restrictions will end, when people can congregate again, when it will all be over (if it ever will be). Leadership 4.0 can help us function and lead during this time.
