1 QUICK APPROACH TO SHIFT NEGATIVE EMOTIONS
Negative emotions can be challenging to deal with, especially when the events that cause them seem to pile on top of each other. Have you ever been having a great day, but you get a call or email that shifts your mood or energy?

SHIFTING NEGATIVE EMOTIONS
Have you ever been having a great day and then a phone call, email, or something happens that shifts you into negative emotions, mood, and energy? Often people will say, “Just shake it off.” We feel ashamed and guilty to be “fixating” on something and struggling to “let it go” as if we should be able to snap out of it and move on, unaffected by our emotions.

FULL MOON ENERGY
John Gray stated that if there is vulnerability or strain, the full moon will cause extra gravitational pressure bringing conflict or those emotions to a head. In contrast, when things are healthy, happy, and well, the full moon has little effect on us as we have the margin to absorb the additional pressure or strain.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR RESILIENCE
We often think about resilience as the ability to bounce back from tough situations and challenges. More broadly and accurately, resilience IS the ability to bounce back and recover faster because we can stay fully charged internally longer, so we handle stress and challenges more easily.

HOW TO HAVE A STRENGTHS-BASED TEAM
If you want to have a strengths-based team, you must be willing to have tough conversations and work through differences. Generally, people do not like conflict and avoid it. This is part of the breakdown of teams and culture.

HOW TO MAKE COACHING RESULTS LAST
As a coach, the most important thing I desire for my clients is that they walk away better than how they showed up. I want them to have more clarity, focus, and a plan to achieve whatever they were up to.

5 STEPS TO CLEAR COMMUNICATION
Communication is challenging. We can argue, “No it isn’t, I communicate clearly, it is others who do not understand.”
That is exactly why communication is challenging. We tend to think the world thinks like us and when they don’t, we feel frustrated and often BLAME others for their lack of understanding.

WHY BUILD CURIOSITY AND CREATIVITY
To be creative it is necessary to have curiosity which is what fuels divergent thinking. This is something AI really cannot do.

WHAT IS “THE WORK” OF PERSONAL GROWTH?
Sometimes we don’t realize what “the work” of a situation or task is. We often like to see the results and want it without doing “THE WORK”. We like to see what feels easy, the green grass, without seeing the pain point or challenge (ie water, seeding, weeding, etc.) to get the green grass. As humans we can feel entitled at times, as if we have already done our time, paid the price, done the work for a result we feel we deserve.

SQUISHY LEADERSHIP & HOW TO AVOID IT
If you avoid doing the important leadership work of critical presence, tough conversations, and key decision-making, you are what I call, a squishy leader.

SETH GODIN’S MANIFESTO FOR TEAMS AND IMPORTANT WORK
Seth Godin is an inspiring truth teller. In 2016 he posted this blog outlining agreements and mindsets for how a team operates when doing important work.
The list is all strongly insightful and wise rules to live by. My personal favorites are:

QUESTIONS TO PREPARE FOR A JOB INTERVIEW
Are you prepping for a job interview? Feeling a little nervous about what they might ask? A good practice is to take some common interview questions and write out answers.

AS A LEADER – Six great questions from Marshall Goldsmith
As a leader there are a few questions we need to ask our team on a regular basis (quarterly is reasonable).
The six questions include:

AWARENESS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE LEADERS
When we allow ourselves time to slow down and practice mindfulness, we increase our muscles that allow for awareness and presence. This is important

TO-DO LISTS AND EXTREME PRODUCTIVITY
I get that to-do lists are not as natural and exciting for some as they are for others. However, to-do lists are essential for productivity.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND COUNSELING
Counseling takes bad things and makes them smaller (like putting out a fire).
Coaching takes good things and makes them bigger (like adding brightness to a light).

WISDOM FROM A RETIRED ENTREPRENEUR
Michael shares his wisdom on what helps businesses to be successful and how coaching supports that. Here are the highlights from our interview.

BEHIND THE SCENES, 20+ YEARS MARRIED TO A COACH
With true sincerity of heart and extreme gratitude, I have been blessed to spend nearly 25 years married to an amazing wife, true friend, and yes…a coach! 🙂

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY CLIENTS OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS
I feel very blessed and honored to coach my clients! It is a gift to hold space for their learning, self-reflections and self-challenging.

20 YEAR LOOK OF WHAT CLIENTS DO TO GET THE MOST OUT OF COACHING
It has been a joy and honor to coach and connect with many leaders over the last twenty years. When reflecting on clients who seemed to get the most traction, enjoyed the most success, and obtained the best results from coaching, there are a few common themes. (Note: If you
